90210… 2.0

So I blogged awhile back about going back and watching old Beverly Hills 90210 episodes. And finally the new 90210 is here!

My thoughts:

• Lucille Bluth lives on! Lucille Tabitha is the best part of this show hands down. Even if the show turns out to be totally crap, I will still watch it for Jessica Walter. Now all they need is Liza Minnelli as Tabitha 2 and a chicken dance.
  
• Jennie Garth has aged way better than Shannen Doherty. But good on Shannen for not sucumbing to getting plastic surgery like the rest of Hollywood.
  
• How come Lori Laughlin never seems to age? I swear she still looks like she did on Full House.
  
• Speaking of ages, how come the parents seem to be so glamourous and young looking compared to parents in the original, eg Jim and Cindy Walsh? Maybe it is just the looks of the earlier 90s that make them look so old and dated or they are meant to be younger. Or are parents nowadays simply a lot more stylish?
  
• Onto the kids. Is Naomi the new 30-year old Andrea Zuckerman? I know they made a joke about Hannah but damn Naomi looks OLD. Not-so-sweet-16, who are you kidding?
  
• Annie is a lollipop (big head, stick body). Actually I was a bit freaked out by the number of stick-girls. Eat something please.
• How many other 90210 alumni will return? Who is Kelly’s baby daddy? Taking bets now on Brandon or Dylan.

Funny side note, in a presentation I attended this week, in the demos the guy used an ID of 90210, and he even said “I used the Beverly Hills postcode”. I LOLed. Well in my head anyway. I wonder if he is a closet 90210 fan?
