So I have this ongoing saga with the blinds at my desk.
Every morning they are fully opened, they immediately get closed cos the light is too bright/glarey to have open. I got sick of putting them down each morning so I moved this stopper on the chain do the blinds wouldn’t open fully.
Well whoever was opening them must of been really persistant cos one morning I came in and they were open - the track the chain is on was broken cos they FORCED them open. Well that was round one to me cos then the blinds could no longer be put up.
Several weeks later and eventually someone clued maintainence they were broken so they ‘fixed’ the track. It was a dodgy fix though cos the chain eventually fell off the track again. So maintainence replaced them completely.
Of course I’m back to them being opened every morning. I put a note kindly asking they remain closed. Nope, totally ignored. I felt like writing another note: ‘are you fucking blind?’ (no pun intended!) but that’s a bit too harsh for the workplace. So I taped the original note and the chain to the side of the window. You think that worked? Of course not. They just ripped through the note when putting the blinds up.
I’ve tried the be nice route with the note, so now I have resorted to getting some Lucas Paw-Paw ointment (has the same sort of consistency as Vaseline) and have put it on the chain, so when you go to open/close the feeling on your hands isn’t so pleasant. Especially if you don’t know what you have touched.
Stay tuned for what is hopefully the conclusion of the blind saga..
